A Dutch YouTuber was manhandled by a local trader near Chickpet in Bengaluru when the YouTuber was recording a video in the area. Chickpet is famous for its wholesale and retail clothes shops.


The YouTuber, identified as Pedro Mota, was traveling across Chickpet market area on Sunday when the incident happened. One of the traders manhandled him while he was recording the video.


The video starts with the YouTuber crossing through a busy market in Chickpet when he was stopped by a local trader.


“Namaste,” said the YouTuber as the trader held his hand and replied “kya Namaste? kya hai ye?” (What Namaste? What is this?)


The trader continued holding the YouTuber’s hand firmly while the latter requested him to let go off his hand.


“Sir, could you please let go off my hand?” said the YouTuber.


The YouTuber then wriggled his hand from the trader’s clutch and quickly left the scene.


The video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms.


Pedro uploaded this video on YouTube with the title “Attacked at the thieves market in India”.


In the YouTube description, Pedro wrote, “exploring the area started out on the wrong foot as an angry man attacked me by grabbing and twisting my hand and arm, lunging after me as I tried to escape.”


Bengaluru City Police has taken cognizance of the matter and said that no such misbehaviour with foreign tourists will be tolerated.


“Pertaining to this, action has been taken and the concerned person rounded up. Strict action will be taken against him. No such misbehaviour with foreign tourists will be tolerated,” said Bengaluru City Police.


DCP West said that the accused has been identified as Navab Hayath Sharif and a case has been filed under Karnataka Police Act Section 92.
